The past few evenings, Gabby and I have been going out and playing football.
Tackling, running for touchdowns and throwing the ball.

We’ve been having fun because she knows that football is starting soon and she will stop every now and then and just say “Daddy, we are Alabama Fans!” and of course I say yes we surely are ‘Bama fans. She’s at the age where I know she is doing just whatever to be around me and I surely love it.
Earlier this evening we were out playing and I had Gabby running for a touchdown and was just cheering her own and really playing it up and while she was running with the ball, she said “Daddy, I want to give you a kiss!” She ran over and gave me a big ol’ kiss and then ran on for her touchdown.
A few minutes later, same thing, but Gabs wanted to give me a hug. She then ran on for her touchdown.
Tonight lasted all of about 20 minutes. I had went out on the porch to sit and relax for just a few and anytime I ever go outside my daughter is always right there with me. She came out with the football and said “Daddy, let’s play! You promised me we would play more football!” I started to say no, but then I said sure and went ahead and we had a blast.
Later in the evening, I was thinking about the play time and I thought how funny that was that Gabby stopped her play and ran over to give me a kiss and a hug. It hit me though mid-thought, that she was having such a large time with her Daddy spending time with her that she expressed that with that hug and kisses mid-play. She didn’t know how to say it, but she showed it.
Thank you Jesus for letting me realize how special that bit of backyard football was to my baby girl and how special it is me.
I know she’ll be grown and gone before I know it so I’m thankful to see and appreciate all the little things.
